We were pleased to have Jim McClellan, N5MIJ, as our guest speaker for the February meeting,
which was held at e. l. marsden wireless, inc. Jim gave a presentation describing D-Star (Digital
Smart Technologies for Amateur Radio technology). D-Star provides digital voice (DV mode) and
also digital data transmission (DD mode). It sends data files suchas graphics, images, etc. at
128kbps. Jim describes D-Star as the equivalent of having an ISDN line in a vehicle.See the links

Every December the Trinity Valley Amateur Radio Club sets up a table in front of the
Terrell Brookshires so that local children can talk to Santa Claus on Ham Radio.
